Senior HR Manager

Abbi has more than fifteen years HR experience. Starting work straight from school, Abbi built on her early roles in recruitment into a CIPD qualified, generalist HR Manager. Abbi has worked in standalone HR roles but most enjoys working in a team environment proactively partnering with managers and colleagues. Abbi manages all things across the operational HR function as well as delivering on projects to enhance our working practices. 

Deputy Underwriter

Abbie joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2017 as a Syndicate Assistant, and in that time has been promoted to Underwriting Assistant followed by Senior Underwriting Assistant in 2022. Abbie’s main focus is supporting the Yacht team, and their brokers both in the UK and overseas.

Credit Controller

Abi started her career at a Shipbroking company as an Operator and Claims analyst, before joining the Club’s finance department in 2023. Day-to-day, she is responsible for collection of premiums and liaison with Members and brokers for the accounts.

Syndicate Manager – Underwriting

Adam joined the Club in 1997. He started his career with a Lloyd’s syndicate in 1983, spending seven years as Assistant Underwriter on the Hull and Yacht books before moving to the Lloyd’s broker in the North European Marine Division, broking Hull, War, P&I and Liability business along with the specialist UK Nuclear and Trade Disruption risks.

Regional Claims Manager - Greece

Agapi joined the Club’s Europe and Africa Syndicate in December 2019 as a Claims Executive. She previously worked at the claims department of another International Group Club. In 2021, Agapi moved to the Club’s Piraeus office as a Senior Claims Consultant servicing mainly the Greek and Cypriot membership, dealing with a variety of P&I, Legal Cost Cover and Yacht claims. Agapi is a Greek qualified lawyer and holds an LLM in International Maritime Law from City University of London and the International Group P&IQ Diploma. Agapi speaks fluent Greek and English.

HR Executive

Alex has more than 6 years HR experience. Alex is CIPD qualified and has built her career working in recruitment and HR generalist roles. Alex enjoys working in a team environment proactively building working relationships with colleagues and managers.  Alex is working collaboratively across the global HR team, proactively supporting colleagues on all HR related queries.

Deputy Underwriter

Alex joined the Shipowners Club in 2021 as an Underwriting Assistant, having previously read History and Politics at the University of Sussex. Alex works within the Americas Syndicate but mainly works on the North American book of business.

Underwriting Assistant

Alex started at The Shipowners Club in November 2023 as an underwriting assistant working closely with other assistants/underwriters in the Europe and Africa syndicate to understand P&I and to offer help where it is needed to achieve objectives/targets. 

Senior Underwriting Assistant

Alex joined the Club in 2022 as an Underwriting Assistant working with the Europe and Africa Underwriting team. Prior to joining the team Alex has worked in the Marine environment; working on various Superyachts and being a Sales Rep for a Marine Wholesaler.

Underwriting Assistant

Beginning his tenure in 2024, Alex became part of the Shipowners Club as an Underwriting Assistant, after completing his Mathematics with Finance degree from Newcastle University. He is now an integral member of the Americas team, focusing primarily on the South American region.

Syndicate Manager Claims / Global Offshore Claims & Contract Specialist

Alex was called to the Bar at Middle Temple in 2008. He became a practising solicitor shortly after joining the Club in 2010 and was the Club’s FD&D (LCC) Manager for four years. In his current role, Alex manages our Offshore Claims team and advises on specialist contracts related to oil and gas, renewables, towage and salvage etc. He has sat on several industry drafting committees, including Bargehire 2021 and UKSCT 2024, where he acted as project coordinator. He was the joint first candidate to pass the IG’s P&I Qualification (Diploma) in 2013 and chaired the IG’s Education Committee from 2018 to 2024. Alex is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and sits on the IG’s Compulsory Insurance and Co-assured Committees, as well as the UK Chamber of Shipping’s Legal, Insurance and Documentary Committee (LIDIC).

Underwriter

Alice joined the Club in February 2019. She was previously with the Standard syndicate underwriting Hull & Machinery, War and Yachts. Initially working in the Club's Yacht team, in May 2020 she moved to the Club's Offshore syndicate.

Senior Marketing Executive

Alistair joined the Club in 2018 as a Marketing Executive, working across a range of external and internal marketing communications and initiatives to support the Club’s business plan. In 2021 he was promoted to Senior Marketing Executive, taking on responsibility for some of the Club’s transformation and change projects, including marketing CRM management and more recently the website modernisation project. Alistair has a Master’s degree in International Marketing with Tourism and Events and in 2021 received his Level 6 Diploma in Professional Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing

Claims Consultant

Alkmini joined the Greek office of the Shipowners' Club in September 2019. She deals with P&I claims for the Greek and Cypriot membership, with a special focus on Personal injury claims. Alkmini had previously worked for 8 years in the Insurance and Claims Department of a reputable shipping company based in Athens. Alkmini holds a BSc in Business Administration and a MSc in Shipping Management.

Credit Controller

Ammalia has a graduate degree in accounting with a decade of experience in the insurance industry.

Underwriter

Amy joined the Club in October 2016, originally with the Offshore syndicate as Syndicate Assistant. In February 2018, she moved over to the Americas syndicate as Underwriting Assistant and has since worked her way up to Deputy Underwriter.

Receptionist and Administration Assistant

Anaëlle Joined the Shipowners’ Club in October 2023, working at the reception and providing support and assistant to the Luxemburgish Office. She also helps the staff with travel and Board Meetings organisation and manages supplies and furniture of the office.

Financial Controller

Andrea joined the Club’s Finance Department in London in 2015 as Head of Finance. She previously worked at AIG as a Regulatory Controller.

Senior Underwriter

Andrew joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2021 as an Underwriter in the Americas syndicate. Andrew started his career in underwriting at an International Group P&I Club in 2012 and has a background underwriting business in Southeast Asia, Canada, and Central and South America. Andrew is now primarily responsible for looking after the Club’s Brazilian & Peruvian Members. Andrew is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute and is ACII qualified.

Senior Credit Controller

Andrew has ten years of experience working in the P&I industry; he has been employed in the Credit Control team at the Club since 2007 having joined from another International Group Club.

On a day-to-day basis he is responsible for collection of premiums and liaison with member/brokers for the accounts including support and servicing of the accounts. This covers all Branches' offices.

He has been a member of the Institute of Credit Management since 2010.

Deputy Syndicate Manager

Anwar joined the Club’s Americas Syndicate in May 2023 as a Senior Claims Executive. He previously worked for a Greek shipowner where he was responsible for managing its insurance portfolio, which included its P&I, FD&D and H&M policies. Anwar also spent several years at the West of England where he handled both P&I and LCC claims for tankers, bulk carriers and offshore supply vessels. He is a qualified solicitor.

Senior Claims Executive

Arsinoi joined the Club’s Americas Syndicate in October 2023 as a Senior Claims Executive. She is a qualified lawyer in Greece and solicitor in England and Wales and has a Master's in Shipping Law from City University, London. She previously worked in two International Group P&I Clubs in London with a focus on P&I claims and Legal Cover Costs  (LCC) disputes for Members in Asia, Europe and Middle East.

Senior Loss Prevention Executive – Singapore

Ashish joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2020. He has 14 years' seagoing experience, all on oil tankers, rising up to the rank of Chief Officer. Ashish holds a Master Mariner’s licence and also a BSc degree in Nautical Science.

Senior Claims Executive

Ashley joined the Club in August 2022 from another IG Club in Singapore where she had experience handling a wide range of P&I and H&M claims for over seven years. She has also previously worked as P&I Correspondent assisting all IG Clubs, and prior to that, as Claims Executive at a fixed premium P&I insurers. Since joining the Club, Ashley handles the full range of P&I claims for Members in Malaysia and Singapore including Offshore Membership. Ashley holds an LLB and LLM in Maritime Law.

Loss Prevention Executive - Singapore

Asyraf joined the Loss Prevention team in 2024. He has 10 years of seagoing experience, rising to the rank of Chief Officer. Prior to his role in Loss Prevention, Asyraf spent 2 years managing projects for a company specializing in Maritime Digitalization through the use of AI and IoT.

Claims Executive

Atusa joined the Club in November 2022 as a Claims Executive. She has three years of experience working as a Paralegal in private practice where she specialised in personal injury claims.

Operations Analyst

Rebecca joined the Club in 2006.  In  July  2022  she moved into the newly created  Operations team as an Operations Analyst. She has continued to work on the DUAs and is also involved with the Club’s P&I Online programme.

Underwriting Assistant

Ben joined the Club in August 2024 as an Underwriting Assistant after achieving his degree in FinTech from Reading University. He works as part of the Offshore team in London and plays a contributing role in supporting their Underwriting processes.

Head of Claims – London Branch

Ben joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2001 and is now Head of Claims – London Branch. Ben began his career with the Club after graduating from university and subsequently qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales. In 2010 Ben moved to Vancouver as a Director of the Club’s Canadian Branch office where he was responsible for the Club’s claims service across Canada and the west coast of the US. In 2013 Ben returned to London to reprise his current role with the Club heading up the Claims team responsible for assisting our Membership across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Indian sub-continent and the Americas. Ben is currently Chair of the International Group of P&I Clubs' Salvage Committee.

Assistant Accountant

Besa joined the Club’s Finance department in 2010 as a Finance Assistant.

Head of Loss Prevention

Bhaskar joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2013. He has spent more than ten years at sea, rising to Chief Officer, and has extensive experience in container shipping. He has also worked on multi-purpose, bulk cargo and heavy-lift vessels, as well as project cargo for the oil and gas industry in Australia.

Project Manager

Claims & Legal Director

After qualifying as a solicitor in 1998, Britt worked for a large City firm specialising in insurance litigation and yacht/pleasure craft claims. Britt then spent over two years with another P&I club dealing with Legal Assistance & Defence (FD&D) and cargo claims for Members in the Far East before joining the Shipowners’ Club in 2003. In 2012, Britt became Claims & Legal Director of the Shipowners’ Club, with overall responsibility for claims and legal services across all Branches.
 

Claims Executive

Bruce joined the Club’s Offshore Claims team as a Claims Executive in July 2023 from the offshore operator Bibby Marine, where he worked as its Chartering and Commercial Risk Manager. He graduated from Aberdeen University in 2010 with a law degree and is also a qualified shipbroker and has previously worked for Clarksons and Subsea 7.

Regional Head – Business Relations and Medisea

Hari has over 17 years’ seagoing experience including three years as Master on a wide range of vessels including VLCCs, gas and chemical carriers as well as offshore vessels. In addition to a Master Mariner’s licence, Hari also has an MBA in International Management and Human Resources and is a qualified ISO 9001/ISM lead auditor as well a navigational assessor. He also holds the post of the Vice-President of The Nautical Institute (Singapore Branch) and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS London). Hari came ashore to head the Commercial and Operations department of an Indian shipping company which chartered, operated and managed bulk carriers, offshore vessels, tugs and barges. He has also been involved in towing and salvage operations. Prior to joining Shipowners' Club Hari helped set up and head the operations department of an offshore company in Singapore which owned and operated AHTSVs and PSVs. Hari brings with him a combination of expertise with mainstream vessels as well as offshore vessels. After spending over ten years with the Club’s Loss Prevention department, Hari has now assumed a larger role as the Club’s Regional Head – Business Relations & Medisea whereby he will facilitate deeper engagement with key industry stakeholders to conceptualise programmes to improve safety awareness and risk management ethos as well as lead the Club’s Medical Enhancement Scheme for Seafarers (Medisea – Epeme).
 

Casualty Consultant

Vaughan joined the Club in 2022 as a Casualty Consultant with the Singapore office. He specialises in marine casualty investigations and has attended numerous major casualties involving salvage, wreck and cargo removal operations globally on behalf of insurers, P&I Clubs, owners, government agencies and salvors. Since 2012, Vaughan has been listed on the Lloyds Panel of Special Casualty Representatives (SCRs).

Senior Underwriter

Carl joined the Club in 2019 as an underwriter from British Marin (QBE) where he spent 13 years in underwriting, mostly dealing with clients in India, the Middle East and the Yacht market. Carl has a degree in Law from the University of Kent.

Finance Manager – Credit Control

Carl joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2021 as a member of the Credit Control department. Carl has over 15 years’ experience in the insurance sector working for large international brokers and some niche brokers.  

He is also one of the key contacts in Credit Control for both brokers and underwriters as well performing month end reporting for senior management.  

Carl is also involved in ongoing developing of our IT systems within finance, as well as administrating some of our business placed through our Coverholders.

Senior Loss Prevention Executive

Carri joined the Loss Prevention team in 2016. She has 11 years' seagoing experience, has sailed as Chief Mate and holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Marine Operations Management. After her cadetship on deep-sea vessels, Carri moved to the offshore sector and served as a Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator in the North Sea and Southeast Asian oil fields.

Underwriter – Singapore

Celinne worked as a Commercial Underwriter before joining the Club’s Singapore Branch as one of its first employees during its startup phase in 2009 and currently oversees the Indonesian market.

Senior Underwriter / Corporate Responsibility Executive

Charlie joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2014 as an Underwriting Assistant in the Europe and Africa syndicate, initially with the Club’s Greek and Cypriot Members. Charlie was promoted to Deputy Underwriter in 2017 and subsequently to Underwriter in 2020. Charlie is now responsible for the Club’s Dutch, Belgian, Danish and Croatian books of business. Alongside his underwriting role, in April 2022 Charlie joined the Corporate Responsibility (CR) Working Group as a CR Executive. Charlie also has a Diploma in P&IQ.

Credit Controller

Charlotte joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2018 as a member of the Credit Control team, dealing with numerous jobs such as processing and allocating multiple currencies, chasing for overdue premiums & liaising with both underwriters and brokers.  

She is also a point of contact regarding the monthly broker statements and for arranging settlement of member refunds and payment of any brokers' commissions payable.

Personal Assistant

Chloe joined the Club in 2006 having completed a year’s course at St James’s & Lucie Clayton College.  She started her working career at the Club firstly as a Loss Prevention Assistant where she worked for over five years before becoming PA to Directors in 2011.

Treasury Manager

Chris joined the Club in 1988 initially as a receptionist, she then joined the Finance department working as finance assistant working for the Club's Finance Director. In subsequent years Chris has been responsible in ensuring that the payment of claims is made to our members on a timely basis as well as overseeing the treasury and IPT reporting functions and currently holds the position as Senior Finance Assistant.

HR Manager – Talent & Learning

Claire joined the HR Department in 2014 having spent over ten years working in HR in industries covering Insurance, Architecture and Fund Management.  Claire’s focus for the Club is all things Recruitment and Learning & Development. She holds an MA in Personnel & Development, is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and is qualified in the use of Occupational Ability and Personality Tests.  

Compliance Officer

Dan joined the Club in 2022; he studied Law at the University of Warwick and is currently Compliance Officer within the Club's Risk & Compliance team.
 

Chief Actuary

Daniel joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2016 as an Actuarial Analyst before being promoted to Actuarial Manager in 2019 and Chief Actuary in 2023. 

General Manager – Singapore Branch/Business Manager

Darren joined the Shipowners' Club in 2015 and moved to Singapore in 2019. Prior to joining the Club, Darren held numerous Commercial Finance roles across a range of industries including Telecoms, New Media and Financial Services. Darren is a CPA (Australia) qualified accountant and holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Commerce.
 

Syndicate Manager – Underwriting

Darren joined the Shipowners’ Club in July 2015. Darren started his career with a Lloyd’s broker in 1986 where he worked in the P&I and Hull departments for ten years before moving to a P&I International Group Club in 1997. Darren has concentrated on underwriting business in North and South America as well as Germany, Greece, Turkey and Russia. He is now the Americas Syndicate Manager for Underwriting based in the London office.

Operations & Change Manager

David joined the Shipowners’ Club in November 2022 as manager of the newly formed Operations function following 15 years working in various management roles within the commercial insurance broking sector. Initially focusing on the P&I Online and DUA Portal offerings whilst balancing initiatives relating to CRM and Sanctions, from August 2023, David increased duties to include Change Management within the business.

General Manager – Greece

Dimitris first joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2006 and worked at the underwriting department for a few years before moving to Greece to complete his national service. He worked for a local insurance company dealing with Greek accounts for P&I and War Risks and in 2011 Dimitris rejoined the Club as an Underwriter responsible for Greece, the Netherlands, Cyprus and other Balkan countries. Dimitris is responsible for the management of the Greek office.
 

Claims Executive - Singapore

Dionysios is qualified E.U. lawyer (Piraeus Bar association), holding an LL.M. from the University of Oslo with specialization in maritime law and joined the Club in November 2023. He had been practising law in Greece since 2016 and worked as a P&I Claims Executive in Oslo, Norway the past 5 years. He handles a full range of P&I and LCC matters across the Branch’s membership.

Underwriter – Singapore

Dolf began his career as a shipping lawyer in one of the largest law firms in Singapore. He made his first foray into P&I in 2006 as a Deputy Underwriter for an International P&I Club. Having spent five years in his previous club, Dolf joined the Shipowners’ Club as an underwriter in 2011. His portfolio includes shipowners in Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Thailand and South Korea, with an emphasis on the offshore sector.

Underwriter

Donna joined the Club in 2022 as an Underwriter, following a period broking at Wilson Europe. She has over 20 years' experience from her time at Steamship Mutual, where she was primarily involved in North American business, including tug and towage accounts. Before she left she headed its specialist cruise team. 

Finance and Regulatory Manager

Eliz joined the Club in 2020 as a Finance and Regulatory Executive. She supports both the Singapore and Hong Kong Branches on regulatory and compliance matters and assists the Finance team in London on periodical reporting for the Club. In 2022, she became Finance and Regulatory Manager.
 

Project Manager

Head of Marketing

Ellie joined the Club in 2016 as a Marketing Executive and after four years as Marketing Manager, was promoted to the Head of Marketing in 2022. Ellie is responsible for the strategic direction of all of the Club’s communications, both internally and externally, across digital and offline platforms. In 2019, Ellie joined the Corporate Responsibility Working Group, lending her marketing expertise to the development and dissemination of the Corporate Responsibility strategy. Ellie has an MSc in Marketing from Birkbeck College, University of London.

Senior Underwriting Assistant

Ellie joined the Club in January 2021 as a Syndicate Assistant, assisting the Offshore team. She now works as an Underwriting Assistant mostly supporting Donna in the Offshore team and is currently studying the CII Apprenticeship which she will finish in October 2024. 

Claims Executive

Emma joined the Club in November 2013 as a Claims Assistant. She joined the Americas team as Assistant Claims Handler in February 2016 and was then promoted to Claims Executive in October 2018. She assists Members with a wide range of P&I claims across many jurisdictions. In addition to her work in the Americas team, Emma also handles non-injury claims for the Yachtowners syndicate. Emma has completed Modules 1–7 of the IG P&IQ.

Administration Manager

Eric joined the Club back in 2007 in our head office in Luxembourg.
He started as an accounting officer and is now Financial Accountant. His main duties are accounting for the Reinsurance subsidiaries of the Club and reporting to the regulator in Luxembourg.
Eric is fluent in French and English, with knowledge of Luxembourgish and German.

Medisea Liaison Officer

Having come from a sales and shipping logistics background, Esther joined the Club in August 2017. When the Club rolled out its Medisea (ePEME) programme in September 2018, Esther joined the team as a Medisea Administrator. Esther primarily assists with the day to day running of the programme including liaising with the panel clinics, Brokers and Members.
 

Secretary – Singapore

Esther joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2019, having previously worked elsewhere in the financial services sector in Singapore. Esther has secretarial and PA responsibilities for the CEO, Head of Underwriting, and Singapore underwriting team in general.

Business Relations & Medisea Executive

Farhanah has accumulated a decade of experience in the maritime industry. In her prior positions at a shipping agency and dry-bulk broking, she adeptly integrated maritime intricacies with customer-centric responsibilities. Farhanah is a holder of a B.Sc. degree in Management and Marketing, complemented by a Diploma in Maritime Business.

Claims Executive - Singapore

Fawwaz was called to the England & Wales Bar as a Barrister in 2014 and holds an LLM in maritime law. He joined the Club in May 2024 having previously worked as regional legal & compliance counsel for various companies in the shipping, maritime, medical devices and commodity trading industries. He handles P&I claims for Members in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia as well as LCC matters across the Branch’s membership.

Senior Underwriter

Gabriel joined the Club in September 2014 as an Underwriting Assistant for the Offshore team and is now the main underwriter for the Club's Indian book. Gabriel has obtained a number of P&I qualifications and continues to study the Advanced Diploma in Insurance. 

Underwriter – Singapore

Gary joined the Club in 2001 after working for a number of years as a marine P&I broker in the London market. Since then he has focused primarily on the Southeast Asian membership. Having relocated to Singapore, Gary is now responsible for the Club’s business in Malaysia and Thailand.

LCC Manager

Georgia joined the Shipowners’ Club in May 2013. She is a qualified lawyer in Greece and solicitor in England and Wales and has a Master's in Shipping Law from City University, London. She started her career with an International Group P&I Club in Athens with a focus on P&I claims and Legal Assistance and Defence (FD&D) disputes for Greek Members. She moved to the UK in 2010, where she worked in the Shipping department of an English law firm, handling disputes in all areas of dry shipping and marine insurance. Georgia manages the Club’s LCC claims for the London Branch and handles some of the Club’s most complex LCC claims. She speaks Greek and English.
 

Underwriting Assistant - Singapore

Gina joined Shipowners’ Club in 2023 as an Underwriting Assistant, where she plays a key role in the Singapore branch’s Underwriting Team. Her primarily responsibility is to provide support underwriters, contributing to the overall business operations of the branch.

Syndicate Manager - Claims

Giselle joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2014 as a member of the Americas syndicate and progressed to Claims Syndicate Manager in November 2021, dealing with a wide variety of P&I claims. As of 2019 Giselle qualified as an England and Wales solicitor and since then, she also handles Legal Cost Cover claims for the Club’s Members worldwide. Giselle has completed her P&I qualification and is a fluent Spanish speaker. In addition to her role as Claims Syndicate Manager, Giselle is also the Correspondent Manager for the Club and sits on the Correspondent Committee for the International Group.

Receptionist/Office & Facilities Assistant

Gwen joined the Shipowners’ Club in March 2020, providing front desk support and efficient assistance to the Office & Facilities Administration to Singapore Office.

Marketing Assistant

Hannah joined the Club's marketing team in June 2023 as a marketing assistant and supports the Club's internal and external marketing initiatives. She previously completed work experience at technology firm Capco.

Underwriter

Hannah joined the Shipowners' Club in 2013, as maternity cover working with the Europe and Africa syndicate as an Underwriting Assistant. Following a period travelling she returned to the Club in 2016. She has been working predominantly with our Greek and Cypriot Members since 2019. In 2021 she was promoted to Deputy Underwriter continuing to service the Greek and Cypriot Members along with the Maltese and more recently Turkish Members of the Club. She is also part of the wider yacht syndicate servicing our yacht Members in the same areas.

Underwriter

Harry joined the Club in 2020 following five years' underwriting at another International Group P&I Club. Since 2017 Harry’s focus has been on specialist craft, river tonnage and offshore supply, predominantly across the Americas and Europe. He is also an Associate Member of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects. Harry is also a member of the Club’s Corporate Responsibility Working Group.

Underwriter

Harry begun his P&I career in 2020 working for an International Group P&I Club. He worked there for over 3 and a half years as a Trainee Underwriter before he joined the Club in 2023 as an Underwriter. He is responsible for a portfolio that is predominantly made up of business in Australia.

Deputy Operations Manager

Hayley joined the Shipowners’ Club in November 2001, and has gained extensive knowledge of the internal workings of the Club during her time working in the Underwriting and Loss Prevention teams. In conjunction with her Loss Prevention focus, she achieved a diploma In Small Craft Surveying. Hayley has most recently joined the newly formed Operations Department as Deputy Operations Manager, initially focusing on the P&I Online and DUA Portals.

Deputy Underwriter

Henry Joined The Shipowners Club in 2021 after graduating from Liverpool University with a degree in History and Politics. He has worked in the Offshore team since joining and has assisted in the Underwriting process and the production of documentation. Henry is currently working towards his P&IQ qualification.

Assistant Claims Executive – Singapore

Hui Qin joined the Club in 2022 as an Assistant Claim Executive, having previously worked in various insurance companies including liability insurers. She currently assists on a wide range of P&I claims, with a focus on crew and cargo, primarily for the Club’s Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia membership.

Underwriting Director

Ian joined the Club as a claims handler in 1991 having previously worked for a container shipping company. In 1993 he was offered the opportunity to move to the Underwriting department assuming responsibility for the Club’s Australian and Middle Eastern Members. He then progressed to become the Head of Underwriting for the London Branch before assuming the position of Underwriting Director in 2012. Ian has overall responsibility for the technical underwriting result and the systems, processes and procedures employed by the underwriting function.

Loss Prevention Manager - London

Ian joined the Loss Prevention team in 2019, after eight years working at sea. Following a cadetship on a wide range of vessels, including offshore and a tall ship, he primarily sailed on general cargo vessels in Europe becoming a Master Mariner, with extensive experience of timber, bulk and project cargoes.

Finance Manager

Ian joined the Club’s Finance team in August 2023 as a Finance Manager. He previously held several different finance roles in the insurance industry and most recently worked at Argenta Group as an Interim Group Reporting Accountant.

Operations Analyst

Jack joined the Club's IT support in September 2020 providing a high level of assistance to the business in terms of hardware and software. In May 2023 Jack moved into the operations team as an operations analyst, handling a variety of process on behalf of the operations team.

Senior Claims Executive

James joined the Club in 2020 as a Claims Executive in the Europe & Africa syndicate. He previously worked in the London Class at another International Group P&I Club. James has a Law degree and Master's from Swansea University.

Product Manager

Janie joined the Club in August 1990 as an Underwriting Assistant on the fishing team. As well as the role of Underwriting Assistant, she also assisted with helping gather requirements for system changes and testing for the UW policy documentation systems, helping to ensure we provide the best service to our Members and Brokers. After 24 years Janie moved to Business Change and Transformation and is now the Product Manager and UAT Test Manager and continues to be part of business change and also product owner for the P&I online portal.

Chief Executive – Hong Kong

Jasmine is a PRC qualified lawyer, and obtained an LLB degree from Shanghai Maritime University and LLM degree from University of Southampton. She initially worked with Hill Dickson in London, then started her P&I career with The London Club for over ten years. She was with Skuld in Hong Kong as Assistant Vice President, Underwriting and Marketing before joining the Club. Jasmine gained remarkable achievement in both P&I and FDD claims, underwriting P&I business across the Asian region.
 

HR Advisor – Asia

Jasna has worked at the Club since January 2013 starting as Office Manager and over the years has taken on HR responsibilities. During her time with the Club, Jasna has completed a Bachelor’s degree in HR Management. Jasna’s career has spanned a variety of administrative and HR roles across industries and she has now established herself as the key day-to-day contact for all things recruitment and operational HR for our offices in Singapore and Hong Kong. Jasna is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien.

Deputy Loss Prevention Executive – Singapore

Jennifer joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2010. She has more than ten years of shipping experience in trade and operation prior to joining Shipowners’ Club. Jennifer also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Diploma in Maritime Transportation (Management).

Finance Administrator

Jenny joined the Club’s Finance Department in Singapore in 2012 as a Finance Adminstrator.

Head of Underwriting – Singapore

Jeremy has more than 40 years’ experience in the P&I industry. Having spent over 20 years at another International Group Club, Jeremy joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2003. Since then, he has had underwriting responsibility for a wide range of the Club’s business including, since relocating to the Club’s Singapore Branch in 2009, Asia-Pacific. In his role as Head of Underwriting for the Singapore Branch, Jeremy leads the underwriting team across the Asia-Pacific region.

Finance Assistant (Lux)

Jerome joined the Shipowners head office in Luxembourg as a Finance Assistant in 2020. Jerome is responsible for the accounting of the Club's investment portfolios and regulatory reporting. Aside from Luxembourg, he has also worked in France, Greece and Germany.

Claims Executive – Singapore

Jessica is a qualified Malaysian lawyer and joined the Club in 2021 from a prominent Singapore law firm where she practised as a registered foreign lawyer and was also a partner of a Malaysian boutique shipping law firm. Having spent 14 years in private practice, Jessica has extensive experience dealing with various shipping disputes for shipowners and marine underwriters, including but not limited to vessels detention in Malaysian waters, pollution incidents, piracy and a multitude of cargo related matters. Jessica currently deals with a full range of P&I and LCC matters, with a particular focus on the Club’s Malaysian membership.

Claims Executive

Jo joined the Club in March 2006. In early 2015 she left the Club to pursue an opportunity as a claims broker. Jo rejoined the Club to work in the Europe & Africa syndicate, where she focused on handling Personal Injury claims. In October 2018 she joined the newly established People Claims team.

Commercial Manager – Asia

Jon joined the Club in 2023 after working for 12 years as a Hull and Machinery underwriter in the London and Singapore markets, specialising in Asian business. He focuses on commercial planning and development for the Asia region. As an underwriter his primary focus is Korea. Jon also forms part of the Club's Corporate Responsibility Working Group.

KYC Screening Analyst

Karolina joined the Compliance team in March 2024 as a KYC Screening Analyst. Karolina has a strong background in Compliance, having worked with top global organisations gaining valuable experience in areas like risk management, regulatory compliance, and anti-money laundering.

Finance Manager

Kevin joined the Club's Finance team as an Associate Director in May 2001.

Claims Executive

Larisha joined the Club’s People Claims team in November 2023 as a Claims Executive. She previously worked in-house at TUI for 10 years in various roles for its UK entities. During this time, Larisha defended a number of travel law claims, ranging from personal injury, contract, maritime law and flight delay claims, in forums ranging from arbitrations to fast track matters, to multi-track cases being heard in the Supreme Court. Prior to this, Larisha worked in a Claimant law firm specialising in personal injury.

Senior Finance Manager

Lauretta joined the Finance department in 2006 as a Finance Accountant and qualified with the ACCA.  She then progressed to Reinsurance Manager, dealing with all Club reinsurance transactions, including that of Hydra director.

Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

Layce joined the Luxembourg head office in 2021 as a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant. She works with Finance on the day-to-day expenses of the office and helps staff with their travel organisation. She also manages the supplies and furniture of the Luxembourg office.

Assistant Claims Executive

Liling joined the Club in 2024 as an Assistant Claims Executive. Prior to joining the Club, Liling was with a Singaporean container shipping company for 3 years where she handled a variety of P&I and H&M claims upon her graduation from university. She has since obtained a Graduate Certificate in International Arbitration and is enroute to completing the Graduate Diploma in Maritime Law and Arbitration at the National University of Singapore. Liling handles a range of P&I matters for the Singapore Branch's membership.

Underwriting Assistant – Singapore

Lorrane joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2019 as Underwriting Assistant. Working within the Singapore Branch Underwriting team, Lorrane’s main focus is to support underwriters for business across the Branch as a whole.

Assistant Accountant

Louise joined the Club's Finance team in August 2011 and is currently an Assistant Accountant.

Deputy Underwriter

Louise joined the Club in 2018 working in the Europe & Africa syndicate; she currently works as a Contracts Specialist in the Club's Offshore syndicate and is Cert CII qualified.

Director – Loss Prevention, Corporate Responsibility & Marketing

Louise joined the Loss Prevention team in 2006 bringing with her a valuable marine background, having served at sea with a global container shipping line and by working as Cargo Planner, Operations Superintendent and Ship Manager. In January 2017 Louise was appointed as a Director of the management board, taking on the wider remit of overseeing Marketing and Corporate Responsibility in addition to Loss Prevention. Louise has an MSc in Marine Surveying and has undertaken Cambridge University’s Sustainability in Business course.
 

Deputy Manager

Louise joined the Club in 2008. In 2012 she spent several months handling claims in the Club's Canadian office. Upon her return from Canada, Louise joined the Offshore syndicate which she served for six years. She then moved over to the Club's newly established Injury team in November 2018. The Injury team was renamed the People Claims team in January 2019.

Deputy Underwriter

After completing her English Literature degree, Lucy joined the Club in 2022 as Underwriting Assistant for the Offshore Team, primarily assisting with business in the Middle East. She has completed Module 1 and 2 of the P&IQ and is now working towards the remaining modules.

Actuarial Analyst

Luke joined the Club's Actuarial team in London in 2023 as an Actuarial Analyst. He previously worked in the actuarial department of a life and health insurer. He is also an Associate of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Marketing Manager

Maddie joined the Club in 2020 as a Marketing Executive. In 2022 she was promoted to Senior Marketing Executive, taking on more responsibility in company wide projects and campaigns such as P&I Online and developing the Club's social media strategy. In 2023 she was promoted to Marketing Manager, managing the day-to-day delivery of marketing operations, delivering the marketing business plan and supporting the marketing team alongside the Head of Marketing in achieving personal and departmental objectives. Maddie has a First Class (BSc Hons) in Marketing with Advertising Management.

Deputy Claims Manager

Madhavi was called to the Singapore Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor in 2011. She joined the Club in August 2017 after practising as a litigation lawyer handling admiralty and shipping claims in Singapore and thereafter having completed a short stint at another IG Club in New York. She handles P&I claims for Members in Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and Vietnam as well as LCC matters across the Branch’s Membership. Madhavi is also an Associate Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre.

Head of Claims – Singapore

Maggie joined the Club in 2015 and currently jointly leads the Singapore Claims team in the Asia-Pacific region, primarily for Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Australia, and Papua New Guinea Membership. Prior to joining the Club, she worked in London at another International Group P&I Club, handling a range of P&I and FD&D claims. Maggie originally trained and worked as a solicitor as well as P&I Club Correspondent in Australia, handling a range of P&I matters in far north Australia and casualty work in Papua New Guinea.

Chief Financial Officer

Marcus became the Club’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 2023 having joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2014 as Chief Actuary.

Prior to joining the Club, Marcus worked for professional services firm PwC for 14 years on a broad range of assignments, both in the UK and the US where Marcus was based for six years.

Marcus is a graduate of City University, London, a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (UK) and a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (US).

Finance Assistant

Marinela joined the Club’s Finance Department in London in 2023 as a Finance Assistant. Her job involves processing payments, setting up suppliers, handling deductibles and claim recoveries, and assisting the team with daily tasks. Aside from London, she has also worked in Greece.

Senior Underwriter

Mark joined the Club in 2007 as an Underwriting Assistant and is now currently a Senior Underwriter looking after the Club's book of business in Africa.

Chief Operating Officer

Mark joined the Club in 2012, becoming integral to the successful IT function, developing strategies and systems that have enhanced the Club’s fundamental operations. He was appointed to the management board in 2020, signifying the Club’s commitment towards greater digital transformation and its ambition to remain at the forefront of technological developments that benefit its large Membership. 

Commercial Director

Mark joined the Club in 2004 after 18 years at another International Group Club. After spending the early part of his Shipowners’ career underwriting the Club's Members in Europe, Latin & Central America, Asia and South Africa, in 2014 Mark then moved into a management role applying his experiences to the role of Head of Underwriting in London. In May 2023 Mark joined the Club’s management board as Commercial Director where, his duties were widened from branch responsibility in respect of underwriting discipline, underwriting result, service levels and its personnel to include, establishing and delivering the commercial strategy of the Club.  The role helps to set underwriting risk appetite, identify new business opportunities (both at a strategic and at a broker/Member specific level) and considers what service offering is required by the market, both now and in the future.

Finance Assistant

Marta did a Finance internship with the Club in 2016, before returning and joining the Club's Finance team on a permanent basis in 2018 as a Finance Assistant.

Claims Executive

Mathilde joined the Club’s Europe and Africa Syndicate as a Claims executive in September 2024. She previously worked at the London P&I Club as a Claims Manager for 3 years in the Greek Members’ team and has handled mostly P&I matters, with some FD&D files. She has a LLB in European Law and a Master’s in International Shipping Law.

Underwriting Assistant

Max joined the Shipowners Club in 2024 after obtaining a degree in Economics and Business from Swansea University. He now works as an underwriting assistant in the Americas team focusing predominantly on North American business.

Underwriting Assistant

Mazie started at The Shipowners Club in July 2023 as an Underwriting Assistant after completing her A levels. Mazie works in the Europe and Africa syndicate and her main focus is to help everyone quickly and efficiently.

Deputy Underwriter

Megan joined The Shipowners Club in 2018 as a Syndicate Assistant for the Offshore Team, following a promotion in 2019 to Underwriting Assistant. She primarily assists with business in India and the Middle East. Megan is also currently studying towards a CII qualification.

Assistant Claims Executive

Megan studied Law at the University of East Anglia, which included a year abroad in Thessaloniki. She joined the Club from MOL Tankship Management where she had a special focus on seafarer training. Prior to this Megan worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Bahamas Maritime Authority.

Senior UWR Assistant – Singapore

Mei Ling joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2015. Having spent time supporting the Singapore Branch underwriters, Mei Ling was appointed to the role of Senior Underwriting Assistant in 2022. Whilst continuing to work on business across the Branch, Mei Ling also handles a portion of the Club’s Australian passenger vessels portfolio.

Finance Manager

Mélanie joined the Shipowners’ Club in February 2023 as Finance Manager. She has worked as external auditor specialised in insurance sector before working for the last two years for a mutual insurer. She is part of the Finance team in the head office in Luxembourg.

Financial Accountant – Branches

Michael joined the Club's Finance team in August 2014 as a Financial Accountant. He is a qualified account with over 25 years' insurance industry experience.

Senior Claims Consultant

Milly first joined the Club’s London office in 2016 as a P&I and LCC Claims Executive, later becoming Deputy Syndicate Manager of the Club’s Europe & Africa syndicate, focusing on the Club’s Greek, Italian and French membership. In 2019, she relocated to Sydney, Australia, to work for the Club’s Singapore Branch, focusing on providing dedicated claims support to the Club’s Australian Members, as well as Members from Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore. Milly is a qualified lawyer in Australia, England and Wales and prior to joining Shipowners' Club, Milly worked as a shipping lawyer in a leading national law firm in Australia.

Underwriting Assistant

HR Assistant

Miyla joined the Club in March 2023 having left school with excellent A-level results and then gaining experience of valuable communication and customer service skills working in retail. Miyla is working as our HR & Office Assistant based in London whilst undertaking an HR apprenticeship and will work towards her professional qualification whilst gaining work experience. Miyla provides HR administrative support to all our offices and covers reception. Miyla is well placed to have a long and successful career with the Club. 

Syndicate Manager

Nathaniel has worked in the shipping industry since 2011.  He previously worked for another International Group Club, where he assisted predominantly European Members in respect of a range of P&I and FD&D matters. Nathaniel joined the Shipowners’ Club in April 2014 as a Claims Handler in the Americas and Yachtowners syndicates. He has since progressed to Syndicate Claims Manager of the Americas syndicate and is also a member of the Club’s Legal Costs Cover team. He assists Members with a wide range of shipping issues. He is an England and Wales qualified Solicitor and has completed the International Group P&I qualification.

Underwriting Manager

Neville has been with the Club since 2012, having prior experience in marine hull dealing with both claims and underwriting for major local and international insurance companies. As an Underwriter, he has undertaken various portfolios within the Club, and he is now mostly focused on Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia. He is also the Underwriting Manager for the Branch’s Underwriting department.

Claims Operations Manager

Nicola joined the Club in 2001 and, following a period in our Singapore office, rejoined the London branch in 2015 in the Europe & Africa syndicate. In 2018, she became the Club's external Quality Assurance Consultant, responsible for the QA architecture the Club has today. In 2020 Nic rejoined the London Branch as part of the Offshore syndicate and Yacht People Claims team.

Claims Manager

Nicola joined the Claims department of the Club’s London office in 2001. In 2009 she moved to Singapore to help establish the Club’s Singapore office. During her time in Singapore she studied for and completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Maritime Law. She returned to the London office in 2015 and now specialises in the handling of yacht claims (non-injury).

Syndicate Manager – Underwriting

Nicola joined the Shipowners’ Club in May 1999, and is the Underwriting Manager of the Yacht syndicate. During her time at the Club, Nicola has underwritten business for many areas of the world and has been the main Underwriter for the Club’s yacht portfolio. Nicola has a Diploma in Superyacht Operations. Outside of the office Nicola enjoys running, swimming and ballroom/Latin dancing.
 

Claims Administrative Assistant

Hazirah joined the Club in 2024, having previously worked in the Banking and Customer Service sectors. Hazirah is assisting Singapore Claims Team in payments and works closely with Vena to support the team on other administrative matters.

Underwriting Assistant

Oliver joined the club in 2024 after earning his degree in Business & Management from Henley Business School, at the University of Reading. He collaborates closely with Latin American business, supporting underwriting tasks and providing valuable assistance in various capacities.

Assistant Claims Executive

Senior UWR Assistant – Singapore

Pamela joined the Shipowners' Club in 2014. Having spent some time supporting the Singapore branch underwriters, Pamela was appointed to the role of Senior Underwriting Assistant in 2022. Whilst continuing to work on business across the Branch, Pamela has a particular focus on Club’s Australian and Indonesian passenger vessels portfolio.

Director/General Manager – Luxembourg

Pascal graduated in finance and accounts from the Business School of Strasbourg University. He also spent a year at Stirling University in Scotland. He moved to Luxembourg financial services and worked for more than six years as an auditor specialising in the financial sectors of investment funds, private banking and insurance. He joined the Shipowners’ Club head office in March 2004 and was appointed General Manager in April 2010.
 

Head of Legal

Paul is Head of Legal for Shipowners. He joined the Club’s London office in 2009 initially as a claims handler and syndicate manager, before relocating to Singapore in 2012 as Head of Claims for the Club’s Asia-Pacific business and gaining significant experience in those markets over the next ten years, particularly in relation to vessel casualties. Having returned to working for the Club’s London office he took up the position of Head of Legal in 2023, and in addition to this role represents the Club on the International Group’s Sanctions, Pollution and Group Liaison Officer committees.

Prior to joining the Club Paul qualified as a lawyer in South Africa with a leading P&I correspondent law firm; and subsequently as an English solicitor with a boutique shipping law firm in London.

Claims Executive

Pauline is a Claims Executive and handles all manner of P&I claims for the Singapore branch, mainly for our Singaporean and Vietnamese membership . Prior to joining the Club, Pauline spent more than 10 years working in the shipping industry in London specialising in oil pollution-related matters. She has prior experience with the International Group of P&I Clubs and ITOPF and has been involved in several pollution incidents either on site or remotely, some of which involved the IOPC Fund. Pauline holds a Masters in Maritime Law and two other Masters in International Law including international law of the sea and Business Law. 

Claims Executive

Rachel joined the Club’s People Claims team in June 2023 as a Claims Executive. She previously worked as an Associate Solicitor at Clyde & Co, specialising in a wide range of personal injury claims. Prior to that Rachel worked in house for TUI for 7 years as a Litigation Executive, defending personal injury claims.

Head of Business Transformation

Ranjith joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2013 as Enterprise Business Architect. In October 2018, he became the Club’s Head of Business Transformation and therefore oversees all aspects of the Club’s change programme, working closely with colleagues and the Club’s Board in delivering an exciting transformation programme. Prior to joining the Club, Ranjith had 10+ years working in various insurance companies and helping them in delivering their change programmes. Ranjith has an MBA from Imperial College London and a Diploma from the Chartered Insurance Institute. 

Deputy Claims Manager

Rebecca joined the Club’s Offshore Syndicate in January 2020 following 4.5 years at another International Group Club. She then moved to the Europe & Africa Syndicate in April 2023, where she works predominantly with Dutch and Belgian Members. Rebecca qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2023 and is part of the Club’s Legal Costs Cover team.

Head of HR

Rebecca leads our HR function and has worked for more than 20 years in generalist HR roles across a range of organisations and industries including telecoms and media, before joining the P&I world. She is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and holds an MA in Personnel and Development from Westminster University as well as a BA in History with Spanish from the University of Nottingham. Rebecca’s career has taken her to both the US and Singapore and these as well as her keen interest in people and performance has given her insight and understanding of different working cultures and environments.

Deputy Underwriter

Assistant Claims Executive

Regine joined the Club in 2024 as an Assistant Claim Executive. She was previously an intern at the Club in 2019 as part of the MPA’s Global Internship Award. After graduating from university in 2020, Regine was with an insurance company for four years where she handled mainly direct cargo, as well as H&M claims. She currently assists on a range of P&I matters, with a focus on crew and cargo, mainly for the Club’s Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong membership.

Loss Prevention Executive

Richard joined the Club's Loss Prevention department in August 2023, as a Condition Survey Programme Executive. He is Master Mariner with 29 years' experience in the shipping industry, with 20 years spent at sea working in coastal and deep sea trades, and nine years working in ship management in the city of London.

Offshore Syndicate Manager – Underwriting

Rob has been at the Club since 2006. Originally Rob joined as part of the Claims department, where he went on to manage the former ‘UK and Rest of the World’ syndicate. Following a year with the Club’s dedicated yacht syndicate in a dual role, Rob completed the switch to underwriting and now works in the Offshore team. Rob has an MA in Maritime Policy and is a qualified Solicitor, and a keen amateur sailor.

Senior Claims Executive

Robert joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2018, originally starting in the Americas Syndicate Claims team as well as the Legal Costs Cover team, assisting members with a wide variety of claims. He has since moved to the Offshore Syndicates Claims team. Robert is an England and Wales qualified Solicitor, having started his career at a leading London maritime law firm in 2012 where he completed his training in 2014.

Deputy Underwriting Manager

Rodin joined the Club in 2021 after having worked for a number of years as a Marine Broker and Hull Underwriter for leading global companies dealing with Asia markets. As an Underwriter with the Club, his primary focus is on the Singapore and Philippines portfolios.

Senior Underwriter

Rupert has an English and History degree from the University of Surrey and joined the Shipowners' Club in 1994. He underwrites the Club’s business in France, Spain, Portugal and Gibraltar, including many of the Club’s yacht, passenger and fishing Members.

Senior Underwriting Assistant

Sam joined The Shipowners Club in 2021 and has continued as an Underwriting Assistant working within the Europe and Africa team in London. Sam is also currently studying for the P&IQ exams.

Underwriter - Singapore

Sam began her underwriting career in 2014 as a deputy underwriter in Standard Asia (now known as NorthStandard). She took up the role of underwriter outside the International Group to write fixed premium P&I, freight forwarder liability, marine and energy liability by joining Lloyd’s Syndicate MS Amlin in 2018, and Markel at the end of 2020 where she remained till 2024 before joining Shipowners Club. Through her foray both inside and outside the International Group, she has experience in developing portfolios across ASEAN, China and Korea. 

Underwriting Assistant

Sam started at The Shipowners Club in August 2023 as an Underwriting Assistant in the Europe and Africa team in London. Sam has completed his CERT CII and is starting the DIP CII soon. 

Finance Assistant

Sam joined the Club’s Finance Department in London in 2003 as a Finance Assistant and is responsible for setting the payment of claims on a daily basis. This is a full time function and ensures that our Members and stakeholders payments are done on a timely basis.

Claims Executive

Sara joined the Club’s Offshore Syndicate as a Claims Executive in March 2023. Sara previously worked in the International Division of another IG Club for two years. As well as holding a law degree and an LLM in International Shipping Law, Sara is a fluent Arabic speaker and is familiar with the main offshore regions the Club works with day to day.

Risk & Compliance Manager

Sarah joined the Club in 2016, initially focusing on regulatory compliance, before expanding her role to include enterprise risk management. As the Risk and Compliance Manager for the Club Sarah is responsible for Data Protection, Financial Crime Prevention, and monitoring activity across the Club to ensure regulatory requirements are being met.

Assistant Accountant

Sean joined the Club's finance team in March 2016 as an Assistant Accountant. He is an Insurance Accounts Specialist with over 20 years' experience in the London market doing both management and financial accounts.

Administrative Officer & Accounting Assistant

Sephora joined the Club's Luxembourg office in 2019 as Receptionist & Administrative Assistant. In 2021, she became Administrative Officer & Accounting Assistant.

Senior Claims Executive – Singapore

Serene started as an intern at the Club in 2014 in her penultimate year of university, as part of the MPA’s Global Internship Programme. After her graduation from university in 2015, she joined the Shipowners' Club full time as a P&I trainee where she rotated between departments for a year. Since then, she has been part of the Claims team and handles P&I claims for the Club’s Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia membership. In the course of time, she has also obtained the Graduate Diploma in Maritime Law and Arbitration at the National University of Singapore.

Underwriter – Singapore

Shayne started as an intern at Shipowners in 2011, and joined full time as a P&I trainee in 2012. After spending time in both the Claims and Underwriting departments, Shayne found her calling in the Underwriting department, and has since worked her way up to Underwriter in 2018. Her main focus includes Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific, but she also assists with the Singapore portfolio. Outside of work, Shayne is an avid reader, world traveller, and dedicated yogi.

Office Manager/ Business Liaison

Shelby joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2021 as Office Manager at the Hong Kong branch.  Other than the daily office administrative duties, Shelby is also responsible for the issuance of the Hong Kong certificates for vessels applying licence from the Hong Kong Marine Department

Senior Claims Executive – Hong Kong

Sherry joined the Club in 2014 after having spent some years working for a shipping company. Having spent two years in the Singapore Branch, Sherry relocated to the Club’s Hong Kong branch in 2016 where her primary focus is to handle a full range of P&I claims for the Club’s Hong Kong and China membership. Sherry has an LLM in Maritime Law from the National University of Singapore and has completed the P&IQ qualification.

Syndicate Manager

Shev is an England and Wales qualified Solicitor and has also completed his IG P&I Qualifications. He joined the Shipowners' Club in 2011, following the completion of a LLM in International Commercial and Maritime Law. As a claims handler, Shev was responsible for the Club’s Dutch, Belgian, German and Scandinavian Membership. Between 2019 and 2021, Shev managed the Yachts Claims Syndicate, dealing with various yacht claims and disputes. In 2021, he was made manager of the Europe and Africa Claims Syndicate. Shev is also a member of the Club’s Corporate Responsibility Working Group.

Project Manager

Shijo joined the Club in 2013 as a Test Manager. In 2023 he was promoted to Programme Manager taking a lead role in delivering the Club’s Transformation Programme. 

Senior UWR Assistant – Singapore

Shirley joined the Club in 2011 as a Claims Secretary. In 2013, she made the transition to Underwriting and took on the position of Underwriting Assistant. Having spent time supporting the Singapore Branch underwriters, Shirley was appointed to the role of Senior Underwriting Assistant in 2022. Whilst continuing to work on business across the Branch, Shirley also handles the Australian fishing and passenger vessels portfolio.

Chief Executive Officer

Simon joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2016 as Chief Financial Officer. In May 2023, he became the Club’s Chief Executive and therefore oversees all aspects of the Club’s business, working closely with colleagues and the Club’s Board in seeking to ensure peace of mind for all entered Members of the Club.

Prior to joining the Club, Simon spent 7 years at a London based real estate company, as Group Finance Director and Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Before that Simon spent 13 years working in the City within the securities and derivatives broking sector, and the investment banking sector.

Simon is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Senior Claims Executive

Sintija joined the Club’s Europe & Africa Syndicate as a Claims Executive in July 2023. She previously worked at the London Club as a Claims Manager for several years and has handled a wide range of P&I matters, along with some FD&D files for their mutual and fixed premium members.

Credit Controller

Sophie joined the Club’s Finance department as a Credit Controller in 2012. She previously worked at Orbis project as an administrator as well as handling finance duties.

Marketing Executive

Sophie joined the Club's Marketing team in August 2023 as a Marketing Executive. She previously worked as a Junior Marketing Executive for The Great Run Company. She has a First Class (BSc Hons) in Marketing and Management from Newcastle University.

Deputy Underwriter

Stacey joined the Club’s Americas Syndicate as an underwriting assistant in October 2007. Over the last 9 years Stacey has gained a wealth of knowledge of the Club’s systems and forged strong business relationships with brokers for some the larger Americas Members. In August 2023, she was promoted to Senior Underwriting Assistant.

Chief Executive – Singapore Branch

The longest serving member of staff, Steve joined the Club in 1978 with a solid focus on underwriting. He relocated to Singapore as General Manager with the opening of the Branch in 2009 with overall responsibility for the Club’s business in the region. In May 2015 Steve was appointed to the Board of SPL as Commercial Director, taking on a wider remit reporting to the main Board on the Club’s worldwide business development and commercial direction, working with the Underwriting and Claims teams in both London and Singapore. As of August 2022, Steve has taken on the new role of Chief Executive of the Club’s Singapore office.
 

Claims Manager

Steven joined the Shipowners' Club in 2017 and is responsible for injury and illness claims suffered by crew, passengers and third parties. Having established the People Claims team in 2018 he manages the team handling illness and injury claims across the Club's membership spanning all syndicates and jurisdictions. He has been a qualified Solicitor in England and Wales since 2006. Prior to his P&I career he worked in private practice as a specialist personal injury litigator. He has litigated on behalf of both claimants and defendants in his previous roles. He has been the Club's representative on the International Group Personal Injury Committee and the Occupational Disease Committee since joining the Club. Since 2023 he has also sat on the International Group Crew Contracts Working Group.

Deputy Underwriter – Singapore

Suo Ling joined the Shipowners' Club in 2011. Having spent time supporting the Singapore Branch underwriters, Suo Ling was appointed to the role of Senior Underwriting Assistant in 2022. Whilst continuing to work on business across the Branch, Suo Ling has a particular focus on the Club’s yacht portfolio.

Head of Claims – Singapore

Surani joined the Club in 2012 and currently jointly leads the Singapore Claims team in the Asia-Pacific region primarily for the Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, China, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands membership. Prior to joining the Club, she spent several years with a P&I Correspondent in Sri Lanka where she handled a wide range of P&I matters, particularly dealing with casualties and wreck removals, both in Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Surani is a qualified Attorney (Sri Lanka) and has an LLM in Maritime Law.

Underwriter

Susie joined the Club in 2005 as an Underwriting Assistant and has worked across the various syndicates over the years, including spells at other companies before returning to the Club. Susie returned to the Yachts team in 2020 as a Deputy Underwriter.
 

Personal Assistant

Suzanne joined the Club on 12^th November 2007 working for Simon Swallow as the Commercial Director and then CEO for 15 years.  After Simon Swallow retired in August this year Suzanne now works as a PA to Simon’s successor Simon Peacock.

Loss Prevention Assistant

Takeisha is a finance and accounting graduate with lots of experience in data analysis and interned at KPMG in the Data Analytics department. She joined the Club in 2022 as a Loss Prevention Assistant focusing on the Club's Condition Survey Programme.

Legal Executive

Tashrina joined the Club in 2019 and is currently a Legal Executive assisting with WorldCheck queries and sanctions.
 

Claims Intern

Thomas joined the Club in April 2024 on a Claims Internship, where he is gaining claims experience across each of the syndicates at the Club. Thomas graduated with a Law degree from the University of Manchester.

Finance Manager

Data Analysis Manager

Valentina joined the Club in 2016 and took on the lead role managing the Data and Analytics team in 2023.
 

Administration Officer

Vaso joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2022 as Administrative Assistant at the Club's Greek office. She holds a BSc in Business Administration, Tourism and Hospitality Management and has experience in administrative positions in different sections. Vaso speaks Greek, English and French.

Claims Secretary – Singapore

Vena joined the Club in 2019, having previously worked in the Telecommunications and Insurance sectors in Singapore. Vena has secretarial responsibilities for the Heads of Claims, and supports all aspects of the Singapore Claims team.

Underwriter

Victoria joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2012 as an Underwriting Assistant dealing with mainly yacht business. Victoria was promoted to a Yacht Deputy Underwriter in 2017 and then to a Yacht Underwriter in 2022. Victoria underwrites business from many areas of the works but mostly works on UK business and Greek business. Victoria is currently in the process of completing a Diploma in Superyacht Operations.

Senior Credit Controller

Vicki joined the Shipowners’ Club in 2019 as a member of the Credit Control team and looks after the Europe and Africa Syndicate, dealing with a variety of queries. She previously worked at two International Brokers before moving over to P&I, bringing her knowledge and a different perspective.

Underwriter – Singapore

Vivian joined the Club in 2014 after possessing more than ten years of experience in the reinsurance and insurance industry. As an Underwriter with the Club, she is responsible for the China, Hong Kong and Taiwan portfolio.

Reception and Office Manager

Wendy joined the Shipowners Club in 2022 as Reception/Office Manager. Working within various organisations over the last 35 years, she has gained a level of excellence in customer service. She is a personable and an approachable person who thrives in a client facing position. She is a valued member of the Club and makes everyone feel welcome upon arrival in the London office.

Claims Executive – Singapore

Wendy started as an intern at the Club in 2016, as part of MPA’s Global Internship Programme, and thereafter began her traineeship within both Claims and Underwriting in 2017 upon graduation from university. She then joined the Claims team in 2018 and is presently working towards completing her Postgraduate Diploma in Law with the University of London. Wendy handles a full range of P&I matters primarily for the Club’s Philippines, Indonesia and Singapore membership.
